Decide what the room must actually do

A yoga room needs clear floor area around a mat, quiet ventilation and storage for equipment. A sauna needs a specified heater, safe electrical design, moisture detailing and a place to cool down. If both uses share one footprint, draw the circulation, door swing and changing area before choosing a building size. Measure internal dimensions after wall build-up rather than buying by external footprint.

Treat heat and moisture as design work

Ask the sauna supplier and room designer to coordinate the heater, ventilation route, floor finish, drainage where needed and the materials around the hot zone. Show how the room will dry after use. A yoga space may need gentler heating and a cleanable surface rather than sauna-grade finishes throughout. Have a competent electrician design and certify the electrical supply; a generic garden-office socket allowance is not a sauna specification.

Check the garden and the proposed use

Photograph the route from the delivery vehicle to the site, note privacy from neighbours and check the proposed height and boundary distances. Outbuilding permitted development depends on the property, location and use; it is not guaranteed by calling a structure a wellness pod. Ask for a complete quote

Request a plan showing the sauna equipment and clear yoga area, plus separate line items for the insulated shell, electrical supply, ventilation, internal finishes, delivery and any groundwork.
